Opening bid US $5,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction. 67k miles. Note VIN provided by seller is UGR55074BW, VIN used is assumed, corrections welcome.

Sellers description:
This 1976 Jaguar XJ12 is a beautiful car that runs perfectly. I'm selling for my father, a long-time collector for over 60 years, who is downsizing after having to move. He's owned about 25 Jaguars over the years and this was the last one he bought. If you ever wanted a Series II, this is one of the nicest ones you'll ever find. It was a former concours winner in California (with the original owner) before coming to North Dakota (where it is now). It has been driven infrequently in the past several years, but last week I drove it for three days and it ran perfectly--including up and down the highway at 75-80. Brakes are very good; tires with significant tread; new battery and ignition electricals. Holds 60 lbs oil pressure at idle.

Cosmetically the car is beautiful, particularly chrome and other trim, as well as interior. The paint on the roof needs buffing and doesn't seem to shine as much as the rest of the car (maybe a wet sanding, even). Overall, as nicely maintained a Jaguar as you'll find.

I noticed one flaw in the interior: above the steering wheel there is a vertical row of 5-6 warning lights ("idiot lights") and one of the covers has fallen down (come undone from the housing).

Everything seems to work: heat, AC, all lights, all windows, radio, clock, cigar lighter, wipers, washers, all gauges, and so forth.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
