Sellers description:
Resto-mod 1976 Jaguar XJ12L. This is a ground up Restoration with up graded modifications. I purchased this car on ebay 10 Years ago out of Santa Cruz, California. This car has always been a California car and never had any rust issues. It has been my personal restoration project on and off for the last 10 years as I had (and still do) numerous other cars I was building on. In the Rebuilding and Restoring Business for over 40 years. The time has come to end my projects and get on with retirement. Everything goes, shop, tools, cars, complete Body Shop & Upholstery shop.

When I got this car it had the Corvette engine and 350 trans in it. It was donated to a Church and sold on ebay (I still have the listing). The engine as was everything else was new or rebuilt. The engine developed a hard knock and was told by the rebuilder shop to bring it in for an inspection! The owner, for what ever reason decided that he was done with the car (or maybe was deceased) and this car and another Jaguar XJS car was donated at that time. I pulled the engine and pan and replaced the bad crank with a crank kit. All the parts on the engine were new and showed it! I have replaced or upgraded most parts on the engine with Chrome and Hi output HEI Dist. All Pulleys are Chrome along with New Power Steering Pump, valve covers, Pan, Aluminum Trans pan, Flywheel cover, Corvette Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner along with all the brackets and bolts on this engine. look at the pictures. The 350 Turbo trans has been rebuilt and has a tag on it from a Trans Shop. The Jaguar rear-end has been removed and all the bearings, shims, and seals have been replaced. Has Royal Purple synthetic gear oil, trans has B&M Trick Shift Fuild, engine is Valvaline 10/30 Racing Oil. The brakes front and rear are New Drilled and Slotted rotors and rebuilt Calipers and are running ceramic pads. The tires are New Falken XIEX ZE502 205/65R 15 Directional Radials, on 15x7 Dayton Wire Wheels with 3tab Jaguar Knock off style spinners. The Jaguar Duel Gas Tanks have been removed cleaned and Epoxy sealed on the inside and Epoxy Painted on the outside. They are fitted with new float senders for the Dolphin Gas gauge. Dolphin Classic Gauges replace the Jaguar Smith units. All the body rubber has been replaced with new, the Original Jaguar Glass is in excellent condition with the exception of the windsheild which has some slight pitting. Stainless trim is in exceptional condition inside and out. This car did not come with a Sunroof from the factory, and was fitted with one sometime after arriving at the dealer. The dealer was Monteray Jaguars and they might of had this done or the buyer may have ordered it. Sun roof works perfectly. Paint; the car was stripped down to bare metal had minor body work done on some small dings, no rust issues anywhere, primed, then epoxy primed. Color painted in Platinum Silver Metallic, and lower body was painted a Dark Charcoal Metallic in a stripped design. Two coats of Urethane Clear with a touch of Silver/White Pearl. Engine bay was also painted in the Platinum Silver. Everything is Clean and Chromed as a new car would be expected. Car show Quality, I used to do this for a living, and this car was my personel car/project.

The Interior has been completly restitched in Lexus Simulated Leather, it breaves and streaches like Leather and will outlast leather and ware much better. Glove soft and looks great in all black. Headliner and Lighted/Mirror sunvisors are Black Foam backed headliner material. The carpets are Imported Wilton Wool carpets in Black along with the Flex Fur door trim (Windlace). Late Model Center overhead Jaguar interior light and sunroof switch. Also sports a Third LED Brake light. Tail lights are aslo LED. This Jaguar has an upgraded Series III Grill, Tail lights, and headrests. It also has the European Style 7" Headlights, Front turn/marker lights and Front and rear Chrome Bumpers.

Other things worth mentioning are; Chrome Power Brake Booster and GM style master cylinder,Columbus Gas Hood Struts,New AC Parts throughout, Camaro Remote Power side mirrors, Complete set of Dolphin Gauges,LeCarra Leather Steering wheel and Jaguar horn kit (loud Horn) Alpine 9820Xm Stereo AM/FM/XM CD player and 2-Alpine 12 Disc CD Changers. 10 Speakers (all name brand) 2 are 10" sub woofers and 200 Watt Amp. This is a nice sounding sound system with high clear volume that just won't quit. Also has the sound/heat butal rubber/foil throughout the cabin. And an Optima Red Top Battery.
Title is clear, it is on a California Non-op, no fees due. Now for the down side, California Registation will need to be done at a Vehical Referee to be tagged for the smog of a Jaguar/with GM Engine. If your outside California then you'll need to check with your DMV as to smog requirements. It has All the required smog requirements for that year 80 Corvette Engine on the engine (Federal) but does need to be timed. Still starts and runs nice but has some slight backfiring when letting off the pedal. The bumpers have been reworked to be Euro Bumpers and were welded and filled where needed, Euro Bumpers are impossiable to find so these are custom made. These bumpers are mounted on the car now and need to be sent to the Platers. My quote was $350 each. The Paint job has some minor issues, some people would be ok as is, but it really needed to be color sanded and buffed. It also has a spot that was damaged when a florecent bulb came out of the light and hit the fender. Minor but did chip the clearcoat. Easy fix, with clear and sanding, etc. This cars Value is well into the $20K range, but will sell for allot less due to the finishing that is needed. It will have a reserve as I'm not going to just give this away but it will be a great deal for someone looking for one of these great Jaguar Sedans.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
