www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Jaguar-XJ6/164132067680
Classified ad price: $38,500 seller gateway-classic-cars, 8k miles.

Seller's description:
Gateway Classic Cars St. Louis is proud to have for sale this 1972 Jaguar XJ6. Right away you notice how nice the body of this classic Jag is. The body lines are gorgeous and the fit and finish is superb. Looks wise this jag could kill, but its under the skin that makes this XJ6 unique. This beauty from the past has been updated under the hood so you can enjoy it as a daily driver if you desire. It is powered by a 4.8L Chevrolet LS engine that has LS1 heads and intake manifold. The transmission is a TH700R4 Chevrolet 4 speed with over drive. This car pulls hard off the line but will comfortably cruise at highway speeds. Adding to the comfort of this already luxury sedan is a beefed up cooling and heating system. This car has a dual zone climate control system with an additional evaporator box and blower assembly in the trunk that is hidden to look stock. The heater was replaced by an electric servo unit. The exterior of the car has been repainted in Jaguar Silver, the bumpers were re-chromed, and the body seals and rubber have all been replaced. All in all, this Jaguar is an amazing vehicle that can be enjoyed whenever you desire. It boasts an incredibly reliable drivetrain with astonishing looks and comfort.

Lot #84441

This 1972 Jaguar XJ6 was refurbished in 2015 by AutoMotion classics of New York with work including installing a 4.8-liter Vortec V8, a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, and a GM PCM and engine wiring harness as well as replacing the climate control system and dual fuel tanks, refinishing the wood dash veneer, repainting the body, re-chroming the bumpers. The car is finished in silver over blue leather upholstery and features power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, power windows, an analog clock, a power-retractable antenna, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The owner acquired the car in 2006. This XJ6 is offered on dealership consignment with service records and a clean Missouri title.

The body was repainted in its present shade of silver in 2015. Features include a pouncing Jaguar hood ornament, chrome bumpers with overriders, quadruple headlamps, a left mirror, a power antenna, and dual fuel fillers. The body rubber and gaskets were replaced, and the bumpers were re-chromed during current ownership.

Chrome-finished 15″ wheels with factory hubcaps are wrapped in 205/75 Pirelli P400 tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering and four-wheel independent suspension. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in blue leather. Amenities include air conditioning, rear climate vents, power windows, toggle switches on the dashboard, an analog clock, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The dashboard veneer was stripped and refinished during current ownership, and the climate control system was replaced with a bespoke system by AutoMotion classics of New York. The selling dealer notes that areas of the dash and trim panels are loose.

The two-spoke steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and frames a Smiths 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,000-rpm redline, while gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 2k miles, all of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.8-liter Vortec V8 was installed in 2015 and features an LS1 intake manifold, fuel rails and injectors, and a Camaro-style water pump and serpentine drive system. Work during current ownership also consisted of installing Series 3-style fuel tanks, a Walbro inline fuel pump, a Corvette-style fuel filter and regulator, and a GM PCM and wiring harness. An oil change was performed in 2022.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with a lock-up torque converter. The transmission was installed during current ownership. Corrosion is visible on exhaust and suspension components.

Invoices from current ownership detailing the engine conversion are included in the sale.
