Auction description:

29 April 2022 at Sandown Park Racecourse

1984 Jaguar Sovereign 4.2

Guide Price: £2,500 to £4,000

Manufacturer: Jaguar

First Registered: 1984

Model: Sovereign 4.2

Registration No: B397 ERD

Mileometer: 131,800

Chassis No: SAJJCALP3CC393663

MOT: 03 January 2023

Colour: Green

This 1984 Jaguar Sovereign 4.2 is presented in sage green metallic with Doeskin leather, and the vendor states that the interior is in fantastic condition. The car drives superbly, and has been well cared for during its lifetime. The chassis has been regularly undersealed, and is therefore in good condition. The car was subject to a bare metal restoration in the late 90s, with photos of the restoration to prove this. It comes complete with a box full of receipts, paperwork, photos, and servicing evidence etc, as well as an MOT until January 2023.

The vendor states that the body does require some attention, specifically the OSF headlight surround and door bottoms bubbling. There is also a slight blow from the exhaust manifold. The car is said to be supremely reliable, and the vendor has just returned back from a trip to Normandy in it. It is fitted with 4 good tyres with 5mm tread, it starts on the button every time, and both fuel tanks and pumps/switcher work perfectly. Overall this is a great usable classic at a very realistic reserve.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
