Ebay item 7/11/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XJ6-Base-Sedan-4-Door-/161760024892
Car has a buy it now price of $2,500 for 6 days. 180k miles.

Sellers description:
1986 Jaguar XJ6-L Currently registered in California. Clean title and registration. The car is in good vintage condition. This is a California car that has never left California, minimal rust. It has never been in an accident and has a straight body. It has been repainted the original blue color. The only dent/damage is a dent in the hood where the plastic fan dented when the fan clutch froze and disintegrated. This prompted its replacement with a metal fan and new fan clutch. Additionally most all engine peripherals have been replaced; battery, power steering pump, water pump, radiator, radiator hoses, spark plugs, spark plug wires. All the gauges and instruments work except the oil pressure gauge, the oil pressure sender needs to be replaced. The air condition stopped working last year, I suspect that the compressor needs to be replaced, the system has been set to use R-19 refrigerant rather than Freon. The transmission has been replaced the a GM Turbo 500 eliminating the problematic Borg Warner original unit using a John's Cars kit. The cruise control does not work, as is typical on all these cars. The interior of this car is in good vintage condition, the leather seats are complete however they show some wear, they are somewhat dry but the only physical damage is a section of 12" missing welting on the driver's seat. The burl wood accents on the dash, console and doors were replaced about 6 years ago; the door cap trims are in good condition the dash panel covering the glove compartment shows some minor cracking of the lacquer finish. This car has been regularly maintained by a mechanic, please contact me for his contact number. The car is in a storage lot in Santa Ana. Pictures show car with dirt on finish in storage lot. Paint is good vintage, pin stripe is worn off.

Car returns to ebay 6/13/16

Car has a buy it now price of $2,800 for 6 days. Seller windrose1927a.

1986 Jaguar XJ6 L - California Car
Currently registered. California Smog Inspection Passed & ready for new owner. No need to reinspect. Runs and drives nice. The "L" model is an extended wheelbase car; it provides an additional 10"+ for rear seat passengers. Transmission conversion to GM Turbo 350- Johns Cars conversion kit - $1,800.00 (this is a far superior transmission to the original and the transmission used by Rolles Royce). Rear calipers & brake pads replaced. New water pump. Radiator replaced. Hoses replaced. Tune-up has been completed. Interior nice -unusual color. Gray, not the usual Biscuit. Contrasts nicely with the exterior color. Radio with power antenna. The body is straight; the car has never been in an accident. Blue paint is in good condition, just the usual minor issues, at the base of the windscreen and rear glass, a quarter size rust point. There is a 2" minor dent from the underside of the bonnet (hood) where the original plastic fan hit it - the fan and fan clutch have been replaced with a metal (indestructible) fan. The tires are good; car cruises very comfortably.

The car has the following minor issues;
A/C does not cool, minor leak somewhere. Speedometer does not work - think it is the connection to the dash computer. Oil pressure gauge does not read sometimes - oil pressure is good, just the gauge is not working sometimes - how British. The price reflects condition. Photos show the condition but best viewed in person. The car is located in Cupertino, CA. When I purchased the car it was a garage queen, I have replaced most engine peripherals including the transmission; she is reliable and a solid driver now, I would drive it from LA to San Jose on occasion.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
