This 1982 Jaguar XJ6 was reportedly acquired by the selling dealer from the long-term owner of approximately 36 years in February 2022. The car is finished in Racing Green over a Biscuit leather interior and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, European-spec headlights, a replacement steering wheel, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, cruise control, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. Service in 2022 is said to have consisted of flushing the coolant as well as replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, starter relay, heater valve, front brake rotors and pads, and brake master cylinder. This XJ6 shows 83k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The body is finished in Racing Green and is equipped with a “leaper” hood ornament, a sunroof, chrome trim and bumpers, European-spec headlights with H4 and H1 bulbs, and dual exhaust outlets. A scratch is noted on the left-front door, a dent is located on the right-front door, and the antenna does not raise or lower. According to the selling dealer, the windshield has been replaced and rust repair was performed around the windshield opening. The Carfax report notes an accident in April 2003, which resulted in “minor damage” to the left-rear of the vehicle.
Factory 15″ alloy wheels feature black accents and are mounted with mismatched tires measuring 205/70, and a spare is located in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners. Service in 2022 reportedly consisted of replacing the brake master cylinder, front and rear pads, and front rotors. Dry rotting is visible on the tires.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in Biscuit leather that extends to the door cards and center console. Wood trim accents the dashboard, and additional appointments include cruise control and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The selling dealer notes the right-rear window does not work, the air conditioning is non-functional, and the front seat bottom seams show splitting.
A replacement leather-wrapped steering wheel was reportedly sourced from an XJS and frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 83k miles.
The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque. Service performed under current ownership reportedly included flushing the coolant in addition to replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, starter relay, and heater valve.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is visible on the underside, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.
