1975 XJ6C with 1971 drive train and interior. Built by longtime Jaguar enthusiast. Driven by owners wife for many years. Stored in temperature controlled garage until last month. Currently registered as a 1971 in California. 90+ point car. Car looks great from 10 feet away. Slight imperfections up close. In very good/exceptional condition with the following issues:
1. Rear brakes need to to be rebuilt. Brake line pinched off. Front brakes are good.
2. Tear in front of drivers seat. See photo.
3. Tear in back of passenger seat. See photo.
4 .Left front fender slightly out of alignment. See photo

Fans of the marque will know that something is not quite right here. There is no such thing as a 1971 Jaguar XJC. Well, there is one...
Well known Jaguar restorer, Bill Price, formerly of Los Gatos, CA, had a problem. He loved the unique styling of the Jaguar XJC body, made only during the Series II production (1974-1978), but much preferred the styling of the the Series I car, with its aggressive grill, slender chrome bumpers, beautiful walnut dash with a bank of toggle switches like proper Jaguars always had and walnut capped door cards. The solution? Build it.
Bill bought a very nice example of the XJC and a very nice 1971 XJ6. He then proceeded to take each car apart to its cage. Media blasting of the XJC birdcage, was followed by a complete rebuild of the drive train from the Series I car. The original transmission was replaced with a GM-sourced 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. The dash from the Series I car was refurbished and transferred to the Coupe, and the interior was redone, including new Navy Bule leather, new door cards in the Series I pattern, including walnut door caps. The exterior of the car was finished in Signal Red, a color which really suits the sporting character if this car.
Bill drove the car to numerous shows, winning awards and enjoying rallies. Unfortunately, serious health issues forced Bill and his wife to sell most of the cars in his collection over the last few years.
I bought the car here on Ebay, and have done a significant amount of work in the time I've owned it. There were some issues with the paint on the front fender of the car when I got it, and the repair left a lot to be desired. I had the entire front half of the car re-worked and repainted. Also, I had all new brake calipers, brake lines and much other mechanical work done in the past few months. Additionally, I had new leather installed on the front seats that had begun to show wear, and I had the console lid covered in matching leather. The back seat still looks new.
This is a pretty unique car...just do a search and you'll see how attractive this car is when compared to the Series II cars as originally configured.
The car still has some minor needs. There is a small amount of bubbling at the base of the driver side "C" pillar, and one other spot near the front of the rear wheel opening that will eventually need attention. Also, this was a driven car, not a trailer queen, so there are some blemishes that reflect careful use.
But, if you're looking for a unique and uniquely beautiful vintage Jaguar...this might be it. It was titled a 1971 Jaguar XJ in California on completion of the restoration. It is now titled as a 1971 Jaguar XJC in Texas.
