Ebay item 9/13/17 Macon, Georgia

Texas... In the mid 80's the V12 developed some issues, the Texas owner then elected to rebuild the V12 and disassembeled the engine, before he was able to completre his task, he died, leaving his widow with a very nice Jag with no engine. The car was sold to the gentleman from whom I purchased the car. He was not only familiar with Jags, he was an aircraft mechanic. He found a low miles wrecked Chevy PU,pulled the engine and trans and did the conversion, around that time he also painted the car. The paint was quality base/ clear coat system. In the 90's he and the Jag were transferred to Nashville, Tn. In 2015 his wife got a new Cadillac. She laid claim to the garage space where the Jag was living. Not wanting to leave the Jag outside it was offered for sale.I bought the car in July 2015.

Hving been in the Antique and classic car business for over 40 years I know cars. The only areas in which I saw room for improvement was the paint, it looked like it had never been ultrafine sanded and buffed, I've done the boot (decki lid) rear quarters and roof, they look fabulous, will I have th rest done by the time you come to get the car?? Maybe

With both the engine swap and paint, being 25-30 years old and having withstood the test of time, there will be no surprises from this car. Even the Lucas power windows operated smoothly and quickly. Look at the dash photo, at idle the engine is holding 60PSI.

A conversion from V12 to Chevy would cost $8,000-$10,000, I;m offering you this car for less.

Why qm I selling??, I am Buick lover. drive a Riviera and have just found a low mileage silver Arrow that is repalcing the Jag as my back up vehicle. The car is inside and I can provide inside storage or 30 dys. THANKS BILL

For you non Jag folks, XJ12L is a longer Jag with more rear set room and larger rear doorsthen an XJ6

This 1979 Jaguar XJ12L was fitted with a 350ci Chevrolet V8 prior to the selling dealer’s 2025 acquisition, and the engine is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in metallic blue over beige Connolly leather upholstery, the car is further equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension, front bucket seats, burl walnut trim, automatic climate control, rear-cabin heating and ventilation controls, power windows, and a Pioneer CD stereo. Showing 54k miles, this Series II XJ12 is offered at no reserve in Illinois with owner’s manuals, spare keys and parts, and a clean Pennsylvania title.

The body rides on a 112.8″ wheelbase and is finished in metallic blue. Exterior details include chrome bumpers, quad round headlights, twin fuel-filler doors, and dual exhaust outlets.

Chrome-plated 15″ wire-spoke wheels are mounted with 205/70 Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires. The car is equipped with fully independent suspension, and braking is provided by ventilated front and solid rear discs.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in beige Connolly leather and are complemented by burl wood accents. Interior equipment includes a Pioneer CD stereo, automatic climate control, rear-cabin heating and ventilation controls, power windows, and central locking.

The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap, and it frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 54k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The replacement engine is said to be a 350ci Chevrolet V8, installed under prior ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a GM Turbo Hyrda-matic 400 three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

An owner’s manual and spare keys will accompany the vehicle.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
