This 1978 Jaguar XJ6L is a long-wheelbase model that was purchased new by the seller in New Mexico and is finished in silver over Russet leather. Power is provided by a fuel-injected 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes a Crane Cams ignition system, automatic climate control, and an aftermarket Sony CD stereo. The front brake calipers, pads, and rotors were replaced in 2015 and the fuel pressure regulator was replaced in 2016. This XJ6L is now offered at no reserve with service records, factory literature, and a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name.
The body was repainted silver with black pinstripes around 15 years ago. Features include dual fuel fillers, chrome bumpers with rubber impact strips, bodyside moldings, a power antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. Paint chips around the exterior are visible in the gallery below.
A set of 15″ steel wheels wear polished covers and are wrapped in 215/70 Arizonian Silver Edition All-Season tires. The front brake calipers, pads, and rotors are said to have been replaced in 2015.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in Russet leather with a matching center console, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a wood veneer dashboard, automatic climate control, an aftermarket Sony CD Stereo, and power windows. Wear is noted on the carpet in the driver’s footwell.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 5,500-rpm tachometer and a 140-mph speedometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer is said to have rolled over once and currently indicates approximately 39k miles.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and has been modified with a Crane Cams ignition system. The seller notes the cooling system was flushed three years ago and the fuel pressure regulator was replaced in 2016.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
