Heavy Duty 3 Core Radiator, Starter, Alternator,
The Suspension has been gone through with new Bushings, Coil Springs, Spax Coil Over Adjustable Shocks,
New Front cross drilled Rotors and Rebuilt Calipers.
This car is practically Rust free, minor rust through under the rear seat cushion, (not in the floor pan).
The Body doesn't show any rust and is very straight,(only minor Dings). The Paint is in Fair condition, it has rock chips,
scratches and some bubbles. It Buffed out nicely. All the Chrome is good, no pits or rust.
The Interior is in good condition it was re-done with Camel Tan Naugahyde Vinyl Upholstery and it looks like the original Jaguar Leather.
The Sound system was upgraded with a Sony Stereo/CD Player, 1000 Watt Amplifier, new Speakers, and a new Power Antenna.
I purchased five later model Jaguar Kent Wheels with almost new Michelin Tires on them as the XJ8 wheels that were on it didn't fit.
The Engine and Transmission were Professionally Converted in California in 1999 with a Stock 350 Chevy per the BAR Certificate on the Door Jamb.
The prior Owner started the restoration in 2008. The rebuilt engine and Trans. were installed but not completed
I bought this "Project" Car last November, trailered it home from Salem, Oregon and spent this time getting it running and driving.
I think the reason this 44 year old car has survived so well is that it lived in California then spent the last 12 years in a garage in Salem. The restoration is almost complete however, there are a few things that either don't work or need to be finished:
There is slight exhaust leakage where the head pipes connect to the new headers. This is due to the pipes were originally aligned
for the stock Chevy Rams Horn Manifolds and have flared ends that won't seal to the flat surface of the new headers.
The fix would involve cutting off the head pipes and welding the correct flange ends on them.
The rear power windows don't operate (probably switches or relays). The Power Door Locks don't work, (relay clicks).
The A/C system needs to be recharged with R-134A Refrigerant. I didn't reinstall the rebuilt A/C Compressor as it will need to be filled with PAX Oil prior to charging the system.
This car comes with New and Used Parts, Owner's , Shop, and Maintenance Manuals.
Over $10,000.00 have been spent on this restoration.
