This 1976 Jaguar XJ12 is finished in British Racing Green over tan buckskin leather and powered by a 5.3 L V12 backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. The car was acquired in 2015 by its previous owner, from whom it was recently purchased by the selling dealer. Subsequent work included replacement of gaskets for the intake manifold, valve covers, cam tower re-seal, and oil pan as well as a transmission service with fresh fluid and a new gasket. This XJ12 is offered with manuals, service and model guides, partial records, and a clean Oregon title.
The bodywork is finished British Racing Green and was refinished at an unknown point under previous ownership according to the seller. Dings and scratches a long scratch on the trunk lid and crazing on the left rear quarter panel. The car retains US-market lighting with side markers and amber turn signals front and rear.
Black rubberized impact panels are mounted outboard of the chrome bumpers. The seller notes that the chrome shows its age in places, and detailed photos of the trim are provided in the gallery. Stock chrome 15″ wheels are fitted with 215/70r15 Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires.
The cabin is trimmed in tan buckskin leather with darker carpets and a burl wood dash panel, which shows cracking on the passenger side. The seller notes that the power windows work correctly, though the air conditioning system is not functional and the dash switch for the twin fuel tanks is inoperative. Approximately 36k miles are shown on the 5-digit mechanical odometer.
The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with Lucas fuel injection derived from the Bosch D-Jetronic system, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission. The selling dealer has replaced the gaskets for the intake manifold, valve covers, oil pan, and transmission, with the latter also receiving fresh fluid. The cam towers have been re-sealed, and many of the top-end gaskets have been replaced.
The seller has checked the brake pads and rotors, while partial replacement of the hard brake lines was reportedly carried out by the previous owner. The car is said to wander due to wear in the front suspension components.
Partial service records and model guides are included, as are two sets of keys and a binder containing printed repair guides and how-to photos.
