Car returns to ebay 7/26/14
www.ebay.com/itm/191262353367
Current bid US $1,025 reserve not met 6 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Argyle, Texas. 76k miles. Buy it now price $4,995. Previous auction received no bids.

Sellers description:
1976 Jaguar XJ6C. This was a Southern California car and the body is in great shape. Exterior is light green metallic and the interior is black. Vehicle will need a re-paint but that should not be too difficult, as the body is really nice with just one tiny dot of rust on the drivers door (the size of a dime). Seats, headliner and carpet are in great shape. The dash will need refinishing. The engine turns but does not start. I replaced the battery but I am not much of a mechanic so I have not been able to get it started. This would be a great car for someone with a little more knowledge.

The guy I bought it from said it was running and driving as recently as 2 years ago. He tried to tune the carbs and got them all out of adjustment. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. What I do know id that the motor turns and is not seized (good news!). The interior looks really good and there is no rust in the rear tire well (common place for rust on these). The windows and electrical work, albeit very slowly. Lights turn on and turn signals blink. The carpet and headliner look fairly new. The vinyl top looks good for its age, but it appears to be original.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
