Seller's description:
This 1976 Jaguar XJ-6C (coupe) chassis # UG2J51478 is 1 of only 1,746 built that year, it is being offered for sale, after being pampered and well maintained over the last 20 years by its previous and current owners. It has been garaged and used sparingly during the fair weather months of New England.
The mileage on the odometer is 2283. The actual mileage is TMU as it may have been reset when the vehicle was originally restored. The car is accompanied by a clear Massachusetts Title and a Jaguar Heritage certificate has been applied for.
A new exterior refinish was completed in Carmen Red, commissioned by the previous owner. The current owner has provided, new Biscuit Leather Seating, Wool Carpets with New Co-Co Floor Mats , a New Wool Head Cloth, New Front Door Cards , New Vinyl Dash Pad and a New Burled Walnut Facia. A Retro Stereo has been installed along with new speakers’ front and rear, along with two 6x9 shelf speakers. Also provided by the current owner are many New Dash Components including (switches gauges etc.) all to insure the proper operation of the Jaguars electrics.
Pirelli P 4000 205 70ZR15 tires are mounted & balanced on Original period correct Jaguar Chrome Steel Wheels and are finished off with Jaguar Chrome Wheel Covers & Badges. The 4.2 liter engine with its original double overhead Camshaft Cylinder Head and matching Cast Iron Cylinder Block are matted to the original Borg-Waner 3 Speed Automatic Transmission. Together they propel this limited production pillar-less saloon along with Style, Grace & Pace. This Jaguar motto of the 50’s & 60’s is certainly evident in this eye-catching example.

Lot #130500
This 1976 Jaguar XJ6C was initially distributed by British Leyland of Baltimore, Maryland, and underwent a mechanical refurbishment in 2022 that involved a valve adjustment, electrical repairs, rebuilding the distributor, and replacing the fuel pump, coolant expansion tank, front exhaust manifold, spark plugs, carburetors, air conditioning components, and mounts for the engine and transmission. The car was repainted red under previous ownership and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a black vinyl roof, wood veneer trim, power windows, tan leather upholstery, and an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. This Jaguar XJ6C was acquired by the current owner in 2023 and is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, recent service records, manufacturer’s literature, three keys, and a clean Arizona title.
The car left the factory in Regency Red and was repainted under previous ownership. The roof is wrapped in black vinyl, and exterior equipment includes quad headlights, chrome-plated fuel filler caps, and dual exhaust outlets. An R DOT sticker is present on the right-front fender, the selling dealer notes pitting on the chrome, an April 2022 invoice indicates that the left door is hard to close, and paint cracks and chips are visible.
Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wear Jaguar-branded covers and are mounted with 205/70 Milestar Touring SLE narrow-whitewall tires with 2022 date codes. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The right-front spring was shimmed, the rear brake flex hose was replaced, and the brake fluid was flushed in April 2022.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that were reupholstered in tan leather under previous ownership along with color-coordinated door panels. Wood veneer accents the dashboard, and amenities include air conditioning, an analog clock, power windows, Jaguar-branded carpeted floor mats, and an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. Service in 2022 included installing a map light lens, repairing a seatbelt, and replacing the air conditioning compressor and expansion valve. The power windows are slow, the dashboard squeaks when driving, the fan control knob is missing, the wiper switch is temperamental, and a split is present in the left-rear armrest.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm redline tachometer, and supplementary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The speedometer wobbles when driving. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 2,600 miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was fitted with E-Type-sourced twin Stromberg carburetors with manual chokes. Service in 2022 involved rebuilding the distributor, repairing the engine wiring harness, a valve adjustment, adjusting the timing chain, plumbing the crankcase vent, and replacing the front exhaust manifold, fan clutch, left in-tank fuel pump, coolant temperature sender, oil pressure sender, coolant expansion tank, spark plugs, fuel non-return valves, front subframe mounts, and engine mounts. An April 2022 repair invoice indicates that a portion of the upper-left timing chain guide is missing, and the fusebox overheated.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission mount was replaced in April 2022.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists production information and is included in the sale along with manufacturer’s literature, recent service records, and three keys.
