Ebay item 3/5/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-JAGUAR-XJ12C-COUPE-V8-CONVERSION-NICE-LOW-RESERVE-/ ...
Current bid $1,580 reserve not met 6 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This Jaguar coupe has spent its life in California and is in rust free condition. The body is in very good condition with only one dent that is behind the drivers door where the rear door would be if it had one. The paint is more than 10 years old but is in very good condition still being very glossy with no orange peel and just a few minor surface scratches. The tail lights, outside mirrors and grille have been upgraded to XJ series 3 specifications.
The interior has been refurbished with a new cloth headliner, carpet, door panels and vinyl seats. The burled walnut dash and switch plates have been renewed also and are in excellent condition.
The Jaguar V12 engine and transmission were replaced with a small block Chevrolet engine and a turbo 350 3speed automatic transmission. This engine swap has not been certified by the California clean air resource board so the car is not currently registered for use in California. It is missing some smog equipment such as the catalytic converters and EGR valve, therefore we are unable to sell it for use in California. Other states should not be a problem.
The car runs and drives well but does have a few issues, these being a non functioning speedo (all other gauges work) The left gas tank does not work(bad fuel pump ?) The A/C belt is removed but the compressor is not seized and the climate controls inside work . The interior dome lights do not work. There is a seal/trim piece missing between the drivers side front and rear window. The knobs to release the front seatbacks are missing.
I am selling this car for a Friend who is overwhelmed with the job of smogging it in California. I am a Jaguar mechanic and I think it could cost him up $2,000 to smog it in California. For somebody residing outside of California I believe this car is a great bargain as it can be used as is and would take little to make it great.

This 1976 Jaguar XJ12 coupe is a black-on-black example that is powered by a 6.2-liter General Motors L99 V8 paired with a six-speed 6L80E automatic transmission. Equipment includes an aftermarket fuel cell, Bilstein Shocks, and air conditioning. Recent service includes replacing the temperature control knob and changing the oil. This XJ12 is now offered with a selection of spares, a jack kit, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

The car was repainted in black and the left quarter panel straightened. The seller states that the side trim, taillights, and windshield seal are replacements, and imperfections are present in the paintwork.

Factory 15″ wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The suspension is equipped with Bilstein shocks and a sway bar, and stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners.

The seats have been reupholstered in black leather and features include wood trim and air conditioning. The temperature control knob was replaced in preparation for the sale, and the stereo has been removed.

A wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel frames replacement instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An analog clock is mounted in the center stack, and the digital odometer shows 21k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 6.2-liter L99 General Motors V8 features a K&N air filter, Hedman headers, and an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. A 20-gallon fuel cell is located in the trunk, and the seller notes that the car is not equipped with catalytic converters. An oil change was performed approximately 500 miles ago.
