Ebay item 5/21/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1975-Jaguar-XJ6/183233425395
Current bid $2,600 reserve not met
3 bids, 5 days left in auction, seller esdavis_ftw, 150k miles.

Sellers description:
Sable with original Connolly leather interior, this 1975 Jaguar XJ6C is ready for its next steward. Jaguar XJ6C pillar-less coupe. Solid, strong running, thoroughly enjoyable Jag.
Significant maintenance records exist tracing the history back numerous years, to include a fully refurbished engine in 1995, Transmission in 2013 and a host of additional effort to ensure this car continues to provide enjoyable and reliable road trips. When purchasing this Jaguar, you can be assured that all mechanical issues have been sorted to allow immediate enjoyment.

In the past eight years maintenance has included a front-end overhaul with all ball joints, tie rod ends and wheel bearings replaced. The front brake calipers were completely torn down, cleaned, and the pistons re-installed with new seals. The dual-Stromberg's were torn down and ultrasonically cleaned with all new seals and wear items installed. The Borg Warner Model 65 three speed is now an overhauled unit with a larger input shaft from the Series III BW-66. The torque converter was overhauled at the same time by Walt and the wonderful folks at Vintage Jag Works in Blackfoot, Idaho. The two-piece driveshaft has all new U-joints and carrier bearing. The brake system has a new booster and overhauled master cylinder. The tires were new in 2012 and are still low mileage.

Mileage is unknown as the speedometer is not operational. Estimated ~150,000 miles.

In regard to the exterior, the vinyl top has been replaced and is good general condition. The paint is in good condition, cleans up well but is not show ready. For a 43-year old Jaguar, there is very little rust, especially in the areas that drive significant cost to repair. There is no rust in the corners of the front or rear windscreen. The wheel arches are solid as are the floor pans, door sills and trough around the trunk. There is rust damage on the passenger side panel below the rear window but has been stable with no perceived progression during the past eight years. This car has not seen weather during my ownership and with the general absence of rust, has likely been lovingly cared for and garage kept for much of its life.

The interior of the car is similar in condition to the exterior. The Connolly leather hides show their age but provide a visceral experience with both the comfort and smell of four decades of carbureted motoring. Just sitting in this car provides an irreplaceable time capsule, with the wonderful combination of gas and leather from this car's motoring history clearly evident.
A second 1975 4.2L Inline 6-cylinder and BWM65 transmission is available per buyer preference. Originally purchased as a source of inexpensive spare parts, only the dual Stromberg's were utilized. This second engine and transmission will convey with the car if requested by the buyer.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
