Sellers description:
1975 Jaguar XJ6C 4.2 liter very solid, beautiful and complete coupe. Maroon on Tan with black vinyl top.

I've owned the car for 6 years and was planning on doing a full restoration on the car. I've decided to sell to work on some other projects. The previous owner owed the car for at least 20 years. He had original engine removed and rebuilt in the late 90's by a British car specialist in St. Petersburg Florida and had another 4.2 installed to drive the car. The car was last on the road in Missouri in 2000. That's when owner drove car from Missouri to St. Pete to have original #s matching rebuilt engine and head re-installed. The Mechanic had the engine disconnected and ready to come out of the car when he became ill and passed away. The car was put away in storage in that as left condition when the owner also passed away. After 15 years in storage that's how I got the car with the engine ready to come out and all parts and pieces along with the #s matching engine and cyl. head. My plan was to install original engine and restore the car completely. After I decided to sell the car and in order to document that all the parts were present I placed all parts temporarily back in the engine compartment, rad, fan etc. and it appears everything is complete. I'm sure there will be some fasteners and the odd bracket missing however everything else is present. Does not drive but rolls and steers. Correct carbs on the car and second original intake manifold is included.

It has had one exterior repaint before he bought it probably in the late 80's or early 90's. Paint shines nice but needs to be painted, some etching on trunk lid and some scratches and dents on passenger side that happened in storage. Virtually rust free and solid as a rock. Body, wheel wells, trunk pan, floor pans, rocker panels are rust free and excellent. Doors, seams, trunk lid, hood all excellent condition. Door jams and inner doors are original paint and excellent. All panels are straight and gaps are perfect. Original vinyl top is in excellent condition with one little repairable tear on rear corner. Some weather stripping is dry and needs replacing. Small rust hole in lower front valance panel and a couple small bubbles by driver mirror. Rear lower valance panel has some subpar repair work at one time also.

All chrome and trim is in beautiful condition. 5 wheels and center caps are in excellent condition, four tires excellent.

Walnut dash panel is excellent. All gages and controls are in excellent condition. I've never had car running so I can't confirm that they are operational, however the car was driven from Missouri to Florida right in to the shop for the engine exchange. Dash pad has a few cracks however I have a perfect new pad that goes with the car. Carpets are in good shape. Front and rear seat covers need to be replaced they are dry and cracked. Driver seat is torn up. I have new seat bottom cushions and head rest foam included. Rear door panels and passenger door panel are in great shape. Drivers door panel and head liner will have to be replaced.

They had removed the front seats and center console to remove the aftermarket radio and that's how I got it. I have set the console and seats back in place again to see if all parts are present and they seem to be. I have included and set in place a rare period correct AM/FM 8 track stereo. Buyer will have to remove console and ensure all electrical connections are correct and hook up stereo.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
