Seller's description:
No evidence of rust anywhere - warehouse stored in California for last 30 years. Signal red exterior paint is in perfect condition - show quality with a little detailing, Same with the chrome. The window rubber on the rear windows and some around the door is flaking a small amount There is nothing that needs to be done to the exterior but enjoy the fantastic lines and eye catching Signal Red.

The interior upholstery was completely replaced with NOS factory leather seat covers, foam is firm and perfectly fitted. The headliner is perfect, no sags, no wrinkles. The only sign of age is the crazed clear coat in the walnut burl dash, although it is minor, it is obvious. Carpet is in great condition. The car not only smells like a jaguar - it smells like a new jaguar!! So clean.

Mechanical
The car has been in storage for 30 years - although carefully preserved, it will require AT LEAST the following items :
The fuel system will require a complete service - carbs cleaned and one fuel pump replaced - it was taken out for rebuild at some point in the past and is missing.
The AC will need the mechanical/electrical control unit replaced - A New one is supplied but not installed. The fan motors worked when tested. The control twist knob for the fan speed needs to be replaced.

Other condition notes from inspection:
Car has spark, and was fired briefly on starting fluid
Oil pressure registered as motor was cranked
All power windows motors are working, one switch will need to cleaned/ refurbished
Brake pedal is firm and fluid at top level in reservoir.
There is no rust evidence , factory undercoat in tact
The tires are good, but careful consideration is suggested as to how much or if any road testing is wise, due to their age - they hold air and car rolls easily for getting it on a trailer.

Summary
This car was owned, improved and preserved by a serious Jaguar enthusiast who had the means to meet every challenge of the complete restoration ( with eye watering expense and meticulous attention to detail) He restored this car for his wife and it was her daily driver until the AC blew warm one day. Shortly after that his health no longer allowed him to make arrangements for the repair. It was then placed on the upper rack of one of his car racks, and stored in a warehouse since its last registration in 1992.

Please be aware that the car was only started briefly on starting fluid during the inspection and that bidders should be aware of the rigors associated with reviving a car from long term storage.
