Ebay item 9/3/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1975-Jaguar-Other-XJ12-/112549683924
Current bid US $2,075, no reserve, 11 bids 6 days left in auction, seller mnsc21, 132k miles.

Sellers description:
1975 Jaguar XJ coupe with the 350 conversion. The vehicle has been is storage for approximately three years and I just recently acquired it through a local estate sale thinking I would have the time and space needed to bring her back to life. I was quickly reminded by our HOA that I can not park the vehicle on the street while I work it and unfortunately do not have the resources to store the vehicle at the moment.

I have added new tires, drained the passenger side fuel tank, added new fuel filters, spark plugs, and have done my best clean the carb. The vehicle runs, drives, and stops, but has a VERY hard time Idling. I have adjusted the choke a couple of times to get the car to idle and test drive, but it seems to only work temporarily and I am right back to trying to keep the car idling halfway through the neighborhood. For the couple of test rides I have done with out the car dyeing on me I can say the car is a beast, and runs like a bat out of hell. I am not comfortable enough with the current idle issue to take the vehicle out on the open road and open her up. I'm confident someone with a little more mechanical expertise can have her up and running / idling correctly with minimal effort. During the couple of times driving I did notice a tapping towards the rear fo the car. The best description I can think of is it sounds like the muffler was hitting something when at a rolling speed. As soon as I pushed the peddle the sound goes away. I have NO clue what it is but wanted to make sure and share that.

A few things to point out as recognizable just from a visible inspection is the rust areas in the photos, and the cracked windshield. I have not had the vehicle on a rack. I can confirm that just from looking under the vehicle I can see some rust patches behind the passenger front wheel, and also under the drivers side floor board.

For full disclosure purposes, and the car being a Jaguar I will say that ALL of the electrical will need be inspected. My inspection of the vehicle can confirm the four electric windows engage and start to go down. I have not rolled them down for fear the would not roll back up. The sunroof motor does engage, but again I have not tested the limits for fear it would not close. The headlights turn on with high beam engaged, and the blinkers do not appear to be connected as I noticed severed wires hanging from them when changing the tires. The RPM gauge does work, but I do not recall looking at the speed odometer when driving due to staying focused on keeping it idling. I can certainly confirm if it works or not if need be. The battery and fuel gauge appear to be reading when turned on but the additional gauges do not read anything. The radio of all things does work.

The car has AC but nothing turns on when you turn the nobs.

I did find a key tag in the vehicle with a Classic Customs name and number that I am attempting to get service records from. I can not guarantee I am able to get service records, or if the place even worked on the vehicle, but if I do receive any service records I will quickly update the information and include with the sale.

I am selling this as a project vehicle due to my lack of knowledge with Jaguars. The car is sold AS IS and there is no warranty expressed or written.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
