Car returns to ebay 4/17/20

Seller's description:

1972 Jaguar XJ6 Series 1

Mileage 101000 miles

Engine 4.2 L I6

Transmission Automatic

Exterior Color Silver

Interior Color Blue

Manufactured in January of 1972, this Jaguar XJ6 is registered as a 1973, as was often the case back then. The car was listed as the year registered as opposed to manufactured.

This is a Series 1 Jaguar XJ6 and has the much sleeker lower, chrome bumpers without the massive, ugly rubber inserts and the split grill.

The 4.2 Litre engine is the original to the car and she is completely numbers matching.

The current owners are believed to be the second owners of the car. He went down to NYC when he was 11 with his Dad and they purchased this car in 1977. It has been in the same family since then. His Dad rebuilt and restored cars as a hobby and this car was no different. Back in the mid 80's his Dad had the car painted in a non stock silver color. The original color still seen under the hood, appears as though it could have been Green Sand.

The car has been well cared for over the past 40 years and is an awesome driver. Just a few years ago the interior was redone and the engine and trans rebuilt by Bassett Jaguars in RI. At the same time, the brakes were completely overhauled. There are less than 2000 miles on the rebuilt engine. At the same time, there was a new exhaust installed, new electronic ignition, spin on oil filter adapter installed, 5 new BFGoodrich Touring T/A tires, 2 new gas tanks and the carburetors rebuilt. The car has power steering and power brakes, but did not come equipped with A/C.

The car itself has 101,000 miles on the clock. The blue leather interior is in beautiful condition, very soft and supple. The wood within was taken out and stripped by the owner's Dad before he passed away several years ago, he installed a Momo steering wheel at that point.. The car runs and drives extremely well.

The downside is that the older paint definitely has some blemishes and there is evidence of rust repair on the driver floor, probably not by a professional.

This wonderful big Cat is ready to drive and enjoy and the rust isn't affecting the performance or safety of the car in any way. This car has a clean CT title.

The asking price on this wonderful driver is $8500 but is negotiable. Please contact me to make an offer, with questions, comments, etc.

2nd Owner, 2000 miles on rebuilt engine. Beautiful Driver with some flaws.
