With only three owners from new, this XJ12L has had a relatively easy life resulting in having covered less then 100,000 miles from new. Originally driven around Litchfield County Connecticut on weekends by its original owner, it was later sold to a renowned marque specialist. Under their care, this automobile was restored / refreshed and brought up to concours condition. In 1990, the automobile was offered for sale, and purchased by its current owner. Driven sparingly, yet greatly enjoyed, it now has covered 78,672 miles and accompanied by a healthy service history.

After being in storage for a year, this XJ12 is now available for sale. A smooth-running car, it runs, drives and stops as it should, but a service would be suggested. While it is now showing some signs of age, it's needs are all feasible to correct, and the car is able to be enjoyed as is.

The driver's door shows small bubbling on the bottom rear corner, while the rear right chrome bumper could stand for replacement or repair due to a small rust hole. Bubbling is also noticed on the lower rear corner which can stand to be addressed, while otherwise the body of clear of any rust concerns. More apparent interior needs, are the headliner and top of the rear seats shows sun damage, not unusual for an automobile of this age. Interior wear is minimal, with only slight wear on the driver's seat bolster. Dashboard veneers are in lovely condition, and this XJ12L has a wonderful leather dash with no signs of sun damage which his indeed rare!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
