This is not an Avon Estate XJ12 !

This is a one-off conversion ordered by Mr William, Chairman of Hatfields, Jaguar dealers in Sheffield. The car was designed by Chris Humberstone, built on a second hand basis (XJ12 HE 1981) in 1984 and delivered ready to be used to Hatfields.

It was drived from 1984 to 1988 by Mr William and was sometime displayed in Hatfields show room or in local exhibitions (once fitted with a full body kit).
It was replaced in 1988 by two XJ40 Estates again ordered to Chris Humberstone, then sold to a collector who used it very sparingly (mainly to go every year to the MOT).
It was auctioned in 2009 with only 18.000 Mi on the clock, having been drived as few as 1000 Mi during the last 21 years.
Until 2009 it was nearly unknown, having only been published in May 1992 and in October 2003 in Jaguar Enthusiast (same picture without any details).

These info's were confirmed in 2009 to the current owner by Andrew Jeffery, Dealer Principal of Hatfields, who has been associated with this company since the 80's.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
