Offered here is a very low mileage specimen of the Series three in 4.2 form. The car was originally owned by Ron Buck of Alvis Owners Club fame, who was well known for his fastidious care of his cars. During his ownership the car appeared in the glossy, hard back book "Classic Cars" by Roger Hicks, where it was given a three page spread. The Jaguar remained with Mr. Buck until 2003, when it was acquired by Mr Spencer Nevitt, who barely used the car and kept it under a cover, which had a negative effect on the paintwork. The car finally passed to a Mrs Hopwood, earlier this year, who also used the car very sparingly.

The car has covered a warranted 21,000 miles from new. The paperwork includes a brief, hand-written, history of the car together with all of the original handbooks and 25 previous MoT certificates, which support the mileage as correct.

This is a rarity indeed and once the paintwork is sorted, would make a superb addition to any Jaguar collection.
Guide Price: £3000 to £4000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
