This long wheel base XJ6 Series III was made into a convertible in the late 1980's by Cabriolet International Ltd. The previous owner purchased the car in 1996 when it had completed 74,745miles; the Jaguar was repainted in white to be used as a wedding car. The vendor purchased the car at the beginning of 2012 and has used the car for a couple of weddings and a couple of Jaguar Car Club rallies, in the last seventeen years the car has covered a total of 3,255miles. In the last twelve months the owner has had the air conditioning system and radiator overhauled. This Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Series III Convertible is supplied with V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in June 2014, a road fund tax disc which expires May 2014, previous MoT test certificates going back to 1996 which verify the mileage and invoices back to 2011. This unusual Jaguar convertible is an ideal car giving the benefit of open air motoring with the luxury of the Jaguar XJ6 saloon.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
