Car to be at auction 8/21
angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/sat-28th-29th-august/1980-daimler-double-six/
Note, VIN is a problem, we have listed it by a best guess VIN but not warranted, corrections gratefully received.
Auction description:
1980 Daimler Double-Six
Estimate: £5,000 - 7,000
V5 Present
MoT Oct 2021
Chassis number: DDALW3CC306575
This Daimler Double‑Six ‑ which is how the marque described its V12‑engined variant of the Jaguar XJ ‑ has spent most of its life being used for chauffeur and wedding hire duties. It's finished in Damson Red with Cinnamon (brown) leather interior, and presents very well, inside and out. The history testifies to new bodywork, rustproofing, a respray, and mechanical work during 2010 and 2011. More recently, there was a service in December 2019 (46,460 miles) plus other remedial work, costing £1195.98 while in March 2020 (46,472 miles) there was subframe, suspension and brake work totalling £2029.88. Also in the file is a 2020 copy of the Daimler and Lanchester Owners' Club magazine featuring a page on the car, a Jaguar Heritage Trust production record certificate, and various old MoTs and service/repair receipts stretching back to 2010. There's no service log book, but the receipts do tend to back‑up the 47,498‑mile odometer reading. The car, which has had four previous keepers, will come with a set of spare keys.
