This 1986 Jaguar XJ6 was delivered new to Jaguar of Darien in Connecticut, and it is said to have remained with its first owner until the seller’s acquisition in 2021. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Jaguar Racing Green over Buckskin leather upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, a power antenna, a “leaper” hood ornament, wood trim, air conditioning, a trip computer, cruise control, a factory AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. Service since 2021 included flushing the power steering, braking, and engine-cooling systems as well as repairing the air conditioning system and recharging it with R134a refrigerant. This XJ6 now shows 89k miles and is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Jaguar Racing Green (HER) with gold and red pinstriping complemented by bright bumpers and trim. Exterior details include a sunroof, a power antenna, dual exhaust outlets, a “leaper” hood ornament, and quad headlights with chrome bezels. Touch-ups and paint imperfections can be seen, including paint bubbling near the edge of the windshield and the rear window.
Factory 15″ alloy wheels feature a two-tone finish as well as Jaguar center caps and are wrapped in 215/70 Michelin Rainforce MX4 tires. The sidewall of the right front tire is cracked, and a full-size spare is located in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners. The power steering and brake fluids were flushed in April 2021.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in Buckskin leather (AFR) along with color-coordinated door panels and a contrasting black dashboard. Wood veneer trim accents the dashboard, console, and door panels, and amenities include air conditioning, a digital trip computer, cruise control, an adjustable steering column, a rear-window defogger, a factory AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. Cracks and wear are visible on the driver’s seat and console armrest upholstery as well as the wood trim.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 89k miles, approximately 1,700 of which were added under current ownership.
The fuel-injected 4.2-liter inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque. The cooling system was flushed and refilled in April 2021, and air conditioning service in August 2022 included installing custom-fabricated hoses, replacing the receiver dryer and expansion valve, and recharging the system with R134a refrigerant. The seller reports that the air conditioning compressor has also been replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
