Ebay item 10/7/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Jaguar-XJ6/202461120763
Car has a buy it now price of $9,500 for 20 days, seller carsanddogs1970, 91k miles.

Seller's description:
This Jaguar is nearly museum quality. All documents have been saved since new. Purchased by a ball player, this Jag has been fastidiously maintained. The car benefits from a $2K transmission rebuild and has never let its owner down. The dark blue seats are supple and pliable. The car looks close to showroom shape. In my line, I've seen 100's of cars, it has been awhile since one took my breath away. This is a no- disappointment set of wheels. If you are looking for a new love affair, look no further.

This 1983 Jaguar XJ6 has been registered in California since 1992 and was purchased by the seller one year ago. It shows 91k miles and is finished in Rhodium Silver over a blue leather interior. Power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include chrome wire wheels, a sunroof, woodgrain accents, automatic climate control, and a replacement transmission. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Finished in Rhodium Silver (MDE), the exterior features a chrome grille, window surrounds, and mirrors. Other equipment includes a sunroof, a Jaguar “leaper” hood ornament, and dual chrome exhaust outlets. Paint blemishes and scratches are noted. The car received pinstripes in 1989 and was involved in an accident around that time according to service records provided by the seller.

15″ chrome wire wheels with knock-off-style centers are fitted with Falken Sincera Touring tires, and a spare tire is mounted in the trunk. The seller notes that the two rear wheel knock-off centers are missing.

The cabin is upholstered with Isis Blue leather on the seats, door inserts, center console, and dashboard, with contrasting woodgrain accents throughout. Equipment includes power windows and locks, automatic climate control, a cassette stereo, and Jaguar-branded floor mats.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, as well as gauges for fuel level, temperature, oil, and amperage. The six-digit odometer shows 91k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the seller.

The 4.2-liter inline-six sends power to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes that the transmission was replaced approximately 500 miles ago.

The Carfax report lists history in California since 1992 and shows no accidents or other damage. Service records dating to the 1980s accompany the car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
