Sellers description:
1986 Jaguar XJ6 with 36406 original Miles. This one owner car was owned by an elderly women from the Philadelphia Suburbs, thus the very low mileage (1400 miles/year). Finished in white with blue leather interior, this car is equipped with power windows, cruise, sunroof, and more.
Due to the owner's age, this Jaguar was not driven for almost a year. As a result, we recently performed some maintenance to help preserve this classic. Prior to running the engine, all fluids were changed and the brakes were bled. The spark plugs were removed and we prepped the cylinders. The battery and drive belts were replaced. The gasoline was drained and replaced. Without a hesitation, the engine started immediately and has been running perfectly since.....quiet, responsive, and smooth. The transmission shifts perfectly and the brakes/ suspension feel great. The vehicle has since passed PA state inspection and emissions and was aligned. All windows, gauges, controls work as they should. I recently took the vehicle on a 300 mile trip and the car ran perfectly.....a very enjoyable classic car to drive.
Cosmetically, the car needs some attention to bring up to perfect condition. Overall, the exterior is in solid shape. However, as a result of sitting outside for a period of time, there is some rust spots developing around the front and rear windshields and on the lower parts of the fenders/rockers. It isn't severe and appears to be a common issue with all of the older Jaguars. The paint is slightly faded. The interior is in nice shape. The seats, carpets, dashboard, and door panels are in excellent shape. The headliner is starting to sag due to age and there is some cracking on the center console wood grain ( common).
Overall, this is a great example of a classic Jaguar that, with a little TLC, would make a wonderful classic to own. The car's low mileage and excellent running condition make it a perfect everyday driver or it could be a nice collectable with a little cosmetic work.
