Ebay item 7/8/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983-Jaguar-XJ6-Nardi-wheel-7-Outers-Same-owner-17-years ...
Opening bid $2,500, no bids 3 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
I've owned this car since 1995 and realize that I will never have the space or money to make it 100%. This is not one of the molested ones with wires cut and pipes crimped and an owner that has given up in a short time. Here are some items to note:

This car runs well and I use it weekly to keep everything fresh however I only put about 900 miles a year on it. The interior is in good condition no tears or seams pulled apart except for the drivers seat which has tear in the outer bolster which is why it has a sheepskin cover. The dash is in good condition no cracks and the door panels are also in good shape. The carpets are recent Lloyd manufactured and in good condition . The console is book matched burl and also the shift knob. The rear also has the OEM shag mats which I believe are not common. There is typical rust spots around the rear glass, the rear dogleg on the right side and at the rear of the inside of the trunk, there are replacement panels available for this repair. I wouldn't consider any of this rust as major and easily repairable. All gauges work as well as the fuel tank changeovers. Correct 7" outer headlights and bezels with Cibie driving lights.

Paint: I had the paint stripped to bare metal, primed and sprayed from the windshield forward about seven years ago, the rear of the car has the typical crackling and will have to be refinished at some point

Tires:.Good tread they only have about 4000 miles on them. Wheels; I switched to the Roulette style wheels since they are lighter and feel they look nicer. I modified the center caps ss as not use wheel spacers thereby maintaining the original geometry and handling of the car. The spare has the keystone wheel.

HVAC; Heat works fine although occasionally when you don't want any, I modified it so the center vent will blow outside air in when you want it. I replaced the evaporator, compressor, expansion valve on the AC systemin 2002, at some point it stopped working. The evaporator is difficult to replace so whatever the issue at this time is it shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Fuel System: The left tank was replaced new in 1995 the right one was sealed and reconditioned by Moyers Fuel Tank Renu (Greensburg, PA) in 2003 and should last for years . All the fuel injectors were serviced, calibrated and reinsatlled with all new seals etc. about 2000 mile ago. The cleaning and calibrations were done by SD Faircloth (FL).

Transmission:Totally rebuilt at 91000 miles also new torque converter and ring gear. Recently I noticed it will hold first for about a minute and then shift normally. This might just need an adjustment, the rebuild has only 34000miles on it. But I'm not a trans guy

Engine; I have always done the normal maintenance and have never had a engine issue it does have the stake down kit installed. It starts quickly and runs within the normal temperture range.

Exhaust; No leaks or rattling both CATS were replaced about 3000 miles ago.

Suspension: BOGE shocks all around, Upper ball joints replaced, the differential sub frame mounts were replaced in 2005 along with th LH rear wheel bearings and seals, Dons Jaguar Service Flemington NJ, the right was done in the late 90's.

Hydraulics: Master cylinder, brake calipers , pads etc.have all been replaced as necessary.

Electrics: Alternator, coil ,headlamp relay, wires, rotor, plugs replaced as necessary. Wipers do park properly when shut down.

Cooling: Hoses and thermostat recently replaced, this car does not run hot temp always stays right below the 90C.

I can't possibly list everything that has been done over the last 17 years but I do have all recepts easily totaling in the thousands of dollars and you are welcome to review them. Obviously this car should be purchased by someone with reasonable mechanical skills. The shop manuals go with it including the S57 electrical manual.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
