Ebay item 6/1/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984-XJ6-91-CORVETTE-TPi-350-700R4-VERY-GOOD-CONDITION-/ ...
Current bid $1,225 reserve not met, 9 bids 6 days left in auction. 126k miles

Sellers description:
1984 Jaguar XJ6 Series III.

Up for auction is a really nicely set up 1984 Jaguar XJ6. This car has a real "300hp" TPi drivetrain from a 1991 Corvette, not the standard Z28 Camaro setup. The car was built by the previous owner using a John's Kit and donor car (65k miles). This car will cruise around town at 1400rpm and on the freeway at 2000rpm due to its motor, 700R4 overdrive transmission and factory rear-end combination. The car has a very smooth and solid classic Jaguar ride. The brakes work great, the car has a valid smog certificate. The interior door panels and carpet look very good as do the re-trimmed leather seats. The wood dash is good, but the surface varnish is peeling and the dash cover does have cracks (I had purchased a good used dash and dash pad.....if I find them I will include them with the car). The exterior of the car is of a nice driver quality, the paint looks good but does have small everyday chips/small scratches. The guages all work, as do the speedo/odo. The windows work, but the sunroof doesn't. The air conditioning does blow very cold when turned on, but after a while the a/c compressor stays on but will not blow cold. The car is solid, the only rust is a few small surface spots on the drivers door....probably from moisture trapped under the chrome trim (see pic). When driving around the car always has power on tap, not a screamer, but a lot of fun to drive. The Jaguar has been driven about five hundred miles since the conversion was completed.

This is a great car/drivetrain package. If you have been thinking about buying a Jaguar...converted or not, look at this one carefully. The previous owner spent over eight thousand dollars on just the conversion, plus over four thousand on refrubishing the leather seats, suspension, brakes, and paint.......you can buy the car for less than the price of the drivetrain swap.

Opening bid US $5,000 reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction. Same location, 127k miles.

Sellers description:
A 1991 Corvette drive-train installed in a 1984 Jaguar XJ6 Series III sedan.

Strong engine and transmission, brakes work well and the suspension is solid. The gauges work, the air-condition does work but needs charging/service. The gauges work, electric sunroof works, the power windows work (sometimes you have to jiggle the switches, typical jag stuff from lack of use); same for the door locks. The car runs smooth and has smooth acceleration. Between the time it took to do the conversion, to certify it for California emissions and finish things on the car it has not been driven much. The previous owner spent around $10k on the work, including genuine replacement leather seats.

Current bid US $1,000 reserve not met 1 bid 6 days left in auction. Seller arnaj01, same location and mileage.

Sellers description:
Up for auction is a well converted Jaguar XJ6. The donor car for this conversion was a 1991 Corvette with less than 75k miles, the previous owner spent over $10k on refurbishing this car a few years ago. The drive-train, exhaust, suspension and interior were all redone.

The engine has lots of torque (originally rated around 300hp) and pulls the car along strongly/smoothly, the rpm's on the freeway are around 2000. The ride is very tight and solid, it feels very nice to drive. The gauges all work, both gas tanks work and switch over. The electric windows, sunroof and wipers work (slow from lack of use). The air conditioning system worked but is need of servicing/attention. The car has a radio/CD changer (but the CD cartridge has been misplaced).

The car is overall very solid, the paint is at least ten years old and is of very average quality. There is some peeling around some edges, and faded where it was in the sunlight more. From our understanding, it took the previous owner a while to do the conversion and to get it to pass the CARB inspection. In the meantime he purchased a new Jaguar and ended up not driving this car much at all.
