Seller's description:
Classic series III Jaguar with Ford small block 5.0 V8. This is a dailydriver Jaguar. Engine runs great, transmission works great, all gauges work as they should, AC blows cold and this car drives good. I bought this car and rebuilt the front suspension. New bushings, ball joints and shocks. The rear suspension has 4 new shocks and 2 new springs. Yes, the rear suspension has 4 shocks and 4 springs. New brakes front and rear. New radiator and this car never overheated. AC blows cold and is 134A. I drove this car daily with AC on, sitting in traffic on the hottest days in Dallas and it did not come close to overheating. Radiator and electric fan are out of a 97-04 GT mustang. Fan is two speed and wired into temperature switch and AC switch. I drove this car to Florida and back and averaged 22 MPG on the highway. Transmission is a AOD with wide ratio mod-it has AODE/4R70W hardware. This results is lower first and second gear with and heavier components. The engine is a stock 90s 5.0 short block (cast pistons) with a HO roller cam, GT40 heads and cobra R rocker arms. Intake is Edelbrock with a Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Ignition is stock duraspark II from a1986 GT mustang. The air breather is from an early bronco. Exhaust manifold is from a 5.0 Explorer. As I built this car I tried to stay with stock and easily accessible parts. The car runs and drives good. Tires are cooper 225/60/15 with 85% tread. They are barely a year old. This car needs mostly minor odds andends. I have to many projects and decided to let this one go. It is a nice daily driver that can be perfected and finished as you use it. What it needs: Heater core is valved off due to leak. It needs fast idle solenoid (for AC on/off), I made my own brackets for carb and transmission TV cable. They work fine but if you want it to be pretty, you will want to buy aftermarket brackets. The other thing it needs is more offset on the tail pipes coming underneath rear bumper. Factory had offset to the ends of the bumper to prevent drafting fumes. Most of the time it is not a problem, but it does need more offset.Transmission has about 20,000 miles since rebuild and engine has about 100,000miles. No smoke no noises. A lot of extra parts including a parts car (no engine no trans) is included.
