1986 JAGUAR XJ-6 SERIES III SALOON #SAJAV1343GC442971. (Stock #3564.) We purchased this 100% original car from the estate of its original local (Tewksbury) owner in 1998 with 34,586 miles. And sold it to another local (Peapack) Jaguar enthusiast from whom we repurchased the car in 2002 with 37,997 miles. We then sold it to another local (Hanover) sunny day driver who kept it for three years, adding an additional 1100 miles. In 2006, we again sold the car locally (Long Valley) with 39,175 miles. Due to some cracking in the factory paint, he commissioned a full respray of the car in its original color. Now, with 59,162 miles, the car's body and paint can almost pass as new and the 100% original interior also appears as new. Finished in beautiful British Racing Green with magnificent biscuit leather and burl walnut interior woodwork. All original manuals and tools accompany the car which is fitted with climate control, cruise control, electric: sunroof, windows, locks, mirrors and antenna, factory styled wheels, original AM-FM/cassette 4-speaker stereo, etc. $16,350.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
