This 1981 Jaguar XJ6 remained registered in Georgia for most of its life before it was acquired by the selling dealer in July 2022, and it now shows 46k miles. The car is finished in white over red leather upholstery and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes quad headlights with chrome bezels as well as a sunroof, 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. Service in 2022 is said to have consisted of replacing the upper and lower ball joints, outer tie rods, sway bar link bushings, valve cover gaskets, and tires. This XJ6 is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer in Arizona with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.

The car was finished from the factory in Tudor White (NDC) and is equipped with a chrome grille, window surrounds, and mirror housings. Additional exterior details include a power sunroof, quad headlights, dual fuel filler caps, and exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. The seller notes that the roof appears to have been repainted. Paint chips are present on the rear edges of the front doors and lower front valance, dings are visible on the rear bumper trim, and checking paint is shown on the trunk.

Factory 15″ alloy wheels feature black accents and are mounted with 205/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were reportedly installed in preparation for the sale. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The selling dealer reports that the upper and lower ball joints, outer tie rods, and sway bar link bushings were replaced under current ownership.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in red leather along with a matching center console and door panels. Wood veneer trim accents the dashboard, and amenities include cruise control, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller reports that the air conditioning system has been converted to function with R134a refrigerant and the expansion valve has been replaced. Cracks are visible on the wood veneer dashboard and glove box fascias.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 46k miles, approximately 150 of which were added under current ownership.

The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six is equipped with dual overhead camshafts and Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection. Service performed under current ownership reportedly included replacing the valve cover gaskets.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.

Manufacturer’s literature, service records, three ignition keys, and one trunk key are included in the sale.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
