Ebay item 4/16/21
www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Jaguar-XJ6/284259589323
Opening bid $3,100 reserve not met 12 bids 6 days left in auction, seller richardbichl, 25k miles.

Seller's description:
1983 Jaguar XJ6 25,000 Original miles 1 owner. Runs and drives excellent Recently replaced fuel pump, gas tank flushed and cleaned. Everything works! Cold AC, all gauges lights and signals work it has all the original tools and books from factory even the original spare tire it never been used. No rust or body work ever the only negatives are the tire as seen in pictures and the paint is cracked on top of the car. It would drive anywhere with new tires.

Car returns to ebay 5/26/21

www.ebay.com/itm/203472320467

Car has a buy it now price of $22,000 for 4 days, seller yabesaygreg, car now said to be in Miami, Florida, previously Chandler, AZ, 26k miles. Previous auction ended as sold at $6,600 after 31 bids.

Seller's description:

1983 Jaguar XJ6 documented super low mile survivor. One owner. Has all original books tools paperwork.probably one of the few lowest mileage xj6’s on the planet.

This car is almost like new everywhere except the paint on the top sections of the car which has faded/cracked and the wood veneer on the cubbyhole door which is also showing signs of cracking (inevitable on these cars over time) otherwise maintained fastidiously.

Once those two items have been addresed, this car would Definitely win every show or concours it entered.

Everything works like new and it could easily drive cross country.

If you were looking for a proper XJ6. This is it.

Car returns to ebay 5/14/25

www.ebay.com/itm/204788811761

Car has a buy it now price of $8,000 for 29 days, seller yabesaygreg, same location, 26k miles

1983 Jaguar XJ6. A documented extremely low mile (26000 miles) car that runs and drives perfectly. I bought this car 4 years ago from its second owner in Alberquerque New Mexico. He bought it from its original owner with 23500 miles as on title in 2002 and put 2500 miles on it in almost 20 years. It was in perfect condition everywhere except the paint which had started fading on the roof, trunk and hood. The seats were perfect as was everything else and with absolutely no rust. I decided to give it a professional paint job in its same factory color because of its overall condition.

I took it to a recommended body shop and agreed on 10k for a professional repaint which was to take 4 months. 3 years later after one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a business, I took my car back having paid an exorbitant amount for the sub par work done painting it. I obviously gave it a full service again. On top of that,my front seats had split at the seams from the car being stored in his yard and not inside.

Anyway to cut a long story short,I just don’t have the energy to try this again to meet my standards as well as not being prepared to spend more money or deal with the possibility of another bad actor.

This car however is a rare example of a super low mile Jaguar that if you buy at the right price, you can redo the front seats, some small things here and there and possibly paint if it bothers you as much as it does me (it’s acceptable and looks ok for a lot of people but not me especially for what I paid to have it done),and have a rare collectible specimen.

Purely as reference, My total cost till now has been over double of asking price or best offer.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
