Lot #100522

This 1982 Jaguar XJ6 spent its life in California and is finished in metallic blue over blue leather upholstery. Power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller acquired the car in 2022, and subsequent work included servicing the air conditioning system and replacing the alternator and auxiliary cooling fan. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with hand-written early ownership notes, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic (JEC) from the factory and is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. Features include a “leaper” hood ornament, a sunroof, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome trim and bumpers. The seller notes areas of paint overspray around the car and tape lines in the door jambs. Crazed, bubbling, and chipped paint is shown in the image gallery below.

The 15″ alloy wheels feature gray-painted accents and wear 205/70 Cooper Evolution tires, and a spare is stored beneath the trunk floor. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The seating surfaces are trimmed in Isis Blue leather while wood veneers accent the dashboard. Equipment includes a power-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a Jaguar-branded AM/FM cassette stereo. The switches for the sunroof and the driver’s window were replaced in June 2022, and the seller states the headliner has been replaced under current ownership.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 50k miles, approximately 250 of which were added by the seller.

The fuel-injected 4.2-liter inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque. The alternator and auxiliary cooling fan were replaced in June 2022, at which time the air conditioning system was converted to run on R134a refrigerant.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
