This rare LWB Series 2 XJ6 left the factory on 26th May 1977, destined for Australia. Originally Signal Red over Biscuit, the car was not only in rare LWB configuration but also equipped with the even more sought after air-conditioning – important in the southern hemisphere.
The car comes with a huge history file chronicling its time in Australia prior to re-importation back to the UK in 2021. It is now UK-registered and is accompanied by a V5 along with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
The owner’s original plan was to restore the car to its former glory, but sadly a busy life and too many other projects mean that it has languished in dry storage ever since and now needs a new custodian.
The file attests that it underwent major work in the late 1990s and it appears to have done little since the mid-2000s. Paintwork is poor, but the body is actually generally very solid. Save for the odd hole in the rear valance, it appears solid – particularly around the arches and sills.
Offered without reserve, this represents a great blank canvas from which to work. The car is currently in storage with us in Warwick and viewing is encouraged.
