Lot 55 of 154: 1974 Jaguar XJ6 4.2
Registration No:PMJ430M
Chassis No:2N6787BW
MOT:May 2019
- Part of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Collection from 1998-2009
- 1 of just 7,463 SII 4.2 SWBs made and the nicest example we have encountered
- Heritage Certificate, JDHT log, original livery, credible 82,000 miles, MOT'd till May 2019
Supplied new by Alec Norman Garages Ltd to Mr L. Errico of Great Staughton, 'PMJ 430M' had three further keepers prior to becoming part of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Collection in 1998. Initially finished in the rare and attractive livery of Turquoise with Tan leather, the XJ6 has been repainted in cellulose but appears to retain its original upholstery and 4.2 litre engine.
Riding on correct-type Dunlop SP Sport tyres, other recent work has seen the Jaguar treated to a carburettor overhaul and new front shock absorbers. Further benefiting from a conversion to electronic ignition (complete with Lucas sports coil), the XJ6 started readily upon inspection. Worthy of close inspection, this rare SII 4.2 litre SWB would grace any marque collection and won 'Car of the Show' at the Mendip Vintage & Classic Tour in May 2018.
