angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/sat-22nd-sun-23rd-august/1973-jaguar-xj6-42-auto ...

Auction description:
1973 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Auto Series II SWB
Lot Number:
Estimate: £5,000 - 6,000

V5 Present
MoT Exempt
Chassis number: 2N2600BW

This short‑wheel base XJ6 4.2, finished in British Racing green, has had just three owners from new including the vendor since 1990 who is warranting the 84,810 miles that have been covered. The history file includes MoTs dating from 1990 to 1999 which appears to be the last time it was on the road until 2011. It has had minimal use each year including the last three years during which time it has covered just thirteen miles since it's last MoT in 2017. The history file also includes copy older V5 confirming the first two owners, 1994 examiner's report, various bills and tax discs, handbooks and wallet.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
