angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic-auctions/2649-22-Jun-2024/5950~2-1976-daimler-53-double-six-auto
Auction description:
Estimate: £9,000 - £12,000
V5 present
MoT exempt
Chassis number: 2K2331BW
This 1976 V12-engined Daimler Double Six Long Wheelbase, finished in the attractive colour scheme of Regency Red with Black vinyl roof and Cinnamon interior was supplied new by Jaguar agent Spink of Bournemouth in September 1976. It was owned by a Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club member for over 35 years, and was regularly featured in the club's magazine, either on display at events or being worked on for a series of features - which included a new wool-cloth headlining. Much mechanical work has been carried out over the years, including the independent rear suspension being rebuilt with OEM Jaguar parts, and a modern ignition system and distributor, albeit one that looks the same as the original Lucas Opus system.
The odometer shows 35,614 miles and the last MoT expired in August 2023 after testing at an indicated 35,433 miles although as an historic vehicle, the Daimler no longer requires annual MoT checks.
Paperwork with the Daimler includes a quite comprehensive history that includes the V5C, book pack with owner's manual and other documentation, MoT certificates, assorted bills, and a Jaguar Heritage Trust production record certificate. There's also original brochures and a spare set of keys.
