Auction description:
Collector Car & Number Plate Auction
1977 Jaguar XJ-C
Upgraded to 6.0 litre V12 spec
Australian-delivered
Chassis number: 2J 2606EW
Engine number: 8C12140SG
Body number: 5J564
Delivered new by Bryson Industries in March 1977, this Jaguar XJ-C has been carefully refurbished and enhanced.
Originally a 4.2 litre six-cylinder car, it is now fitted with a Jaguar V12 enlarged to 6.0 litres – the factory V12s were 5.3 litres – and a four-speed automatic transmission.
There have also been suspension improvements, along with the fitment of a set of XJS-HE alloy wheels and the headlights have been converted to H4 halogen units as well.
This Australian specification XJC is still finished in old English White with red leather upholstery with the standard black vynil roof. The woodwork is in excellent condition and the interior likewise. This XJC also has been fitted with a sports style wood trim steering wheel to complement the interior.
Much of the work to this Jaguar coupe was carried out by the highly regarded Spiteri Jaguar, which had been maintaining it for over 20 years through three long term owners. One of those was a JRA (Jaguar Rover Australia) executive who retained the car for around 22 years.
Indicating 258,841km, the factory wallet, handbooks and service passport come with the car, along with a substantial history and document file.
A special Jaguar XJ-C in both terms of its performance and history, this is one for the keen classic or club enthusiast.
