Describing this particular example as being in "good" condition with regard to its bodywork, black leather interior, 4.2 litre twin-cam engine and three-speed Borg Warner automatic transmission, the vendor explains that it went into storage in 1989 and has just been recommissioned, with new fluids and a new MOT. He also informs us that the low recorded mileage of 31,600 is confirmed by a previous advert dating from 1984 plus various old MOTs and a letter listing two of the previous keepers. "The condition of the vehicle is outstanding both inside and out - and underneath", he opines, adding that there are not many of these handsome coupes left with this condition and mileage. Sold with V5C, old MoTs and sundry paperwork.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
