Car to be at auction 4/18
www.barons-auctions.com/auction_details.php

Auction description:

Model: XJ6 Series 1 Manual
First Registered: 1971
Registration No: DPW 206K
Mileometer:54,000

This is a 1971 Daimler Sovereign Series 1 2.8 Automatic, ans as such is Road Tax exempt. The car has had 3 owners, and shows only 54,000 Miles, backed up with Service History etc. Daimlers are a rather more exclusive version of the XJ6, and the car starts and runs very well. It is very original with excellent bodywork and panel fit. If you are in the market for stylish, comfortable transport, there is no better value for money.

The bodywork is in very good condition, the wheel arches, the floor panels, the boot area, inner and outer sills are all in good condition. The vendor feels that the car is generally all in good solid condition, though obviously there are age related marks. The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or holes, and the dashboard is also in good condition.

Guide Price: £5,000 to £7,000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
