This stunning automatic Series 1 XJ6 was first registered in July 1970 and has been in the same ownership ever since. The vendor certainly has had value for money and is only selling the car due to house-downsizing. It is, he tells us, a much-loved family car.
SJV 356H has only covered 116,650 miles in its 48-year life which is nothing for a car that was so well-constructed and one which has been so well-cared for. In the last 12 years the car has done fewer than 2,000 miles and will be driven from Lincolnshire to the sale. It is MOTd until June 2019 with just one minor advisory referring to a minor oil leak.
It is in exemplary original condition, with only a few alterations from standard: stainless steel exhaust system, “sporty” wooden –rimmed steering wheel and a tow bar. The car will be supplied with its original steering wheel, two chrome-plated tail pipes, four new shock absorbers and a new SU carburettor.
The vendor has carried out a lot of the servicing himself and made notes in the original service booklet which accompanies the car.
Doucments: V5C 9 past MOTs, MOT to July, 2019 (no advisories), operator’s handbook, service booklet.
