Great to hear and see! BTW strange that this car has the S2 rear end treatment, that is the XJ6 badge, the boot lid lock and plinth and reverse lights, reg. plate lights etc. Maybe this was normal for late North American S1 cars. I know a car also here that had the pieces behind the fuel filler caps although it is a genuine S1 4.2 XJ6. Cheers!

Hello Pekka T. ,
Yes,the 1973 S1 had that S2 feature rather than the two wings that the 1972 and prior S1's had. You'll note the front overriders are the black rubber wrapped oval overiders.I am enjoying the car but still in process of repairing some elements such as the fuel senders for example since the car sat (indoors thankfully) for 8 years. I'm still moved by the look of these wonderful S1 cars. Best!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
