This 1971 Jaguar XJ6 was acquired by the seller’s father in 1998 and was fitted with a 302ci Ford V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission during a refurbishment the following year. Additional work included repainting the bodywork in metallic blue and reupholstering the interior in beige vinyl. Additional modifications included MSD electronic ignition, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, headers, a dual exhaust system, as well as a Vintage Air air conditioning system, a Clarion stereo and sound system, and VDO gauges. The car was in storage for a decade before being brought out for sale. Service in preparation included changing the oil and bleeding the brakes. This XJ6 is now offered by the seller on behalf of their father with refurbishment records and a clean Texas title.
The body was stripped and repainted in PPG Mistral Blue in 2000. The hood was also replaced. An aftermarket exhaust system is installed and exits through the factory valance cutouts. A dent is visible on the left front fender and the paint is cracked at the left rear door handle.
Chrome 15” steel wheels are mounted with 215/70 Triumph Radial 2000 tires showing 2003 date codes. The car is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, and the system was bled in December 2023.
The seats and headliner were reupholstered in beige vinyl during the refurbishment, and interior details include a burl wood dashboard, a Vintage Air air conditioning system, power windows, and a Clarion stereo connected to speakers in the front doors and rear parcel shelf.
Aftermarket VDO instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 17k miles, which is said to represent the mileage since refurbishment work was completed in 2000.
The Ford 302ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt and installed in 1999. Equipment includes an MSD electronic ignition, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a galvanized fan shroud, and custom-built headers. An oil change was completed and the battery, fuel tanks, and fuel sending units were replaced in preparation for the sale..
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission that was reportedly sourced from a Ford and overhauled in 2000. A custom dual exhaust system was fitted and flows through dual Flow Master mufflers.
