1971 Series One Jaguar XJ6.4.2 Litre.
Rust free Californian car from new.
Sold to its First Lady Owner in Fullerton California in 1971. The car was kept by her until a few years ago . During her ownership it was maintained by a local experienced Jaguar mechanic used by her husband for many years. The engine was rebuilt and ran well with good power but following a period of inactivity it now seems to be stuck. Had newer rebuild trans, rear end and new AC compressor. Newer fuel tank and pumps. I was told that the car was running and driving well before it was parked up.
The body and underside are in really good shape for a Series One most of which have either been hit or are rusted out. This car having been in California all its life is really extremely solid and there appear to be no signs that the car has ever been hit .All gaps are good .
The interior needs refurbishing. Although the seats have been redone at some point . The headlining needs replacement as do the carpets. The interior door panels are off and at least one needs the cardboard replaced.
This will make a lovely car for someone.
