Auction description:
Lot 246
Luxemburg registration
Chassis n°1L23709BW
- Faithful replica of the iconic competition model
- 60 000 € restoration by the Atelier des Coteaux
- High performance and lightweight
This superb, high-quality replica is a precise reproduction of the legendary C-Type built by Jaguar between 1951 and 1953. It was constructed on the base of a Jaguar 4.2-litre XJ6, which is the model that appears on the registration document. The engine comes from a Jaguar 3.8-litre. The work was carried out a specialist, thought to be Roger Worall, from the English company called Heritage Engineering Ltd during the 1980s. This company was taken over by Realm Engineering Ltd and no longer holds the archives for Heritage. In 1984, when the car belonged to a certain Richard Havord from England, it had already been transformed into a C-Type. In 2009, the current owner, from Luxembourg, bought the car and sent it to the Atelier des Coteaux, near Paris, to be completely restored. Leaving nothing to chance, the mechanics, wiring, cockpit and bodywork were all restored to the highest standards. The level of detailing is superb and very faithful to the original 1950s C-Type racing machine. The radiator grille, with a long-range headlight fitted behind it, and the twin side-exhaust, give the car a more aggressive appearance. It is tempting to jump in behind the wheel and take to the road and experience the sporty and powerful feel of the car. This provides a great opportunity to acquire a very well-constructed replica of a model that sells for several million euros today.
Estimation 60 000 - 100 000 €
Vendu 71,520 €
