Car to be at auction 7/25

www.historics.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-120---1971-jaguar-xj6-series-i-42-litre/

Auction description:

19th Jul, 2025 The Summer Serenade; Windsorview Lakes

1971 Jaguar XJ6 Series I (4.2 litre)

Estimate £11,000 - £14,000

Registration: MEJ 345J

Chassis No: 1L17150DN

Engine No: 7L33875S

Odometer: 67,814

Manual with overdrive

Only two owners from new

Originally registered on 14th June 1976, this Jaguar presents well in silver with red interior. It has only had two owners from new and it is thought the mileage of 67,814 is correct, although not warranted. We are advised the 4.2 litre XK engine runs well and the manual gearbox (with overdrive) operates as it should. These Series I XJ6’s are very stylish and offer a great driving experience. Supplied with the original buff logbook, a current V5 registration document together with a collection of invoices. This really is one for the collector but can be used as it was intended. A great tribute to British luxury motoring. Consigned by Stewart Banks.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
