Car to be at auction 4/18
www.barons-auctions.com/auction_details.php

Auction description:
Spring Classic, Sandown Park Race Course: 21/04/2018
1970 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Manual
Manufacturer: Jaguar
Model: XJ6 4.2 Manual
First Registered: 1971
Registration No: MBP 2J
Mileometer:
Chassis No: 1L 13019DN
MOT: none
Colour: Grey

The Series One 4.2 XJ6 example offered here is a barn find rare Factory Manual version, that is in need of restoration with the engine and gearbox then refitting. These are now becoming very collectable, especially the rare 4.2 manual. The body is described by the vendor as very sound. The interior is described as reasonable, the car has a factory fitted steel sunroof, and the car comes with a nice private registration number.

The engine and gearbox are removed from the car. The 4.2 engine is an unknown quantity, but does turn over, and is from a slightly later car. The overdrive gearbox is the original.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
